Katrina Hinds
Katrina started dancing with Christ in the Arts in 2006 when she was fourteen. She was there as a member of the Chris in the Arts company and was first debuted in 2007. It was early on that her love for teaching dace was discovered. Her education of dancing and teaching went hand in hand. She attended BalletMagnificat! Dance intensive workshop in Jackson Mississippi, as a student in 2008 and 2011 and later attended their teacher training in 2013. After graduating from Kingdom Preparatory Academy in 2010, she dedicated her attention and time into becoming a full time dance instructor and apprenticing as the choreographer assistant under Lara Hinds. She married CITA’s partnering instructor and former dance company member David Hinds in 2012. She danced in the company for nine years, at which time she took a hiatus from dancing, and transitioned into a full time position as CITA’s costume seamstress/designer/manager. Even though she is no longer a full time company member, she has enjoyed dancing and teaching with CITA as often as possible.
Katrina has taught exploratory dance for three summers at Calvary Baptist for their annual summer arts camp. She has even gone as far as the Czech Republic teaching contemporary for two summers with an outreach arts camp known as XLarge. She is now fully occupied in finding new ways to communicate her faith, hope, and joy in Jesus through dance, videography, painting, and sewing. Katrina is overjoyed to return this year as the contemporary teacher with Christ in the Arts.
Katrina teaches Intermediate Contemporary, Advanced Contemporary, Apprentice, and Company.
