Naomi Widelski
Naomi Widelski began her dance training at age 7 under Ingrid Lozano at The Dance and Fitness Academy in Lubbock, Texas. She continued under the instruction of Yvonne Racz-Key at Ballet Lubbock, Texas from 1995-1999. For two years, Naomi danced for Mr. Neil Hess with the West Texas A&M University Dance Ensemble and with the Lone Star Ballet. She danced professionally with Ballet Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee and retired in May 2005.
She has attended summer programs at Ballet Magnificat, St. Louis Conservatory of Ballet, and Ballet Austin. Naomi has taught for Studio 413 in Memphis, Ballet Lubbock, Christ in the Arts, New Mexico Ballet Company and Sandra’s School of Dance in Albuquerque. She was also the Assistant Artistic Director of NMBC for the 2011-2012 season. For 10 years Naomi worked at The Russell School of Ballet (RSB) in Fairfax, VA, and was the Education Director for RSB for the last 2 years of her stay.
Naomi returned to Lubbock and CITA in August 2021, and has been teaching the upper level classes in classical ballet.
When she’s not at the studio, Naomi can be found doing yoga, lifting weights, salsa dancing, exploring the local farmer’s market, and nature.
Her favorite scripture is Ephesians 3:14-21;
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
